A DRUNK man who bit another person's nose in an attack at Hereford Station has been handed a suspended sentence.

Mark Anthony Mundle entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates on February 3.

The court heard Mundle had used threatening and abusive behaviour likely to cause alarm and distress in front of other people at Hereford Railway Station on August 1.

The 46-year-old also admitted assaulting another person at the station by biting them on the nose on the same date, causing actual bodily harm.

MORE COURT NEWS:

Magistrates said the offence was serious because Mundle had been in drink, the attack had taken place in a public place, and because it had a lasting effect on the victim.

Mundle, of Grenville Road, Worcester, was handed a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. He must pay £250 compensation to the victim, but no costs order or victim surcharge was imposed due to his lack of means.
