TESCO has confirmed more staff members at one of its stores in Hereford have tested positive for coronavirus.

The chain said "a very small number" of staff at its Belmont store in Abbotsmead Road had caught the virus.

It is not believed the cases are as a result of an outbreak in the store, but Tesco said it was following all Government guidance and was taking "relevant precautions".

The chain, which has another supermarket and several convenience shops in the city, did not say how many staff had tested positive at Belmont in the last two weeks.

On January 25, Tesco said "a very small number" of staff at the store had tested positive.

Public Health England figures show that 6,180 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Monday (February 8) in Herefordshire, up from 6,117 the same time on Friday.
