FOUR fire crews have been battling a blaze at a feed mill in the Golden Valley this morning.

The fire happened shortly after 5am and involved five tonnes of grain at the Feed Mill in Tram Inn, near Allensmore.

Four fire crews, a water carrier and fire officer were sent to battle the blaze in a store measuring 50 metres by 50 metres.

They used breathing apparatus to deal with the blaze.

Currently there are three fire engines which remain on the scene.

“We’ve started to relieve crews which have been there since the early hours,” said a spokesman for the fire service.

“We are scaling the incident down, but we don’t know how long we are going to be there at this time.”
