A warning for snow and ice is in place for Herefordshire today.
After initially only covering the north of the county, it has now been updated to include it all.
The warning, which is issued by the Met Office has also now been extended to midnight, and means:
- Some roads and railways likely to be affected, with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
- Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces are possible
- There will probably be some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
The Met Office says today will be dry and mostly sunny to start, but there is a chanced building through the day, with a chance of rain or snow from the north east from mid afternoon. Maximum temperature 4C.
Herefordshire Council/Balfour Beatty Living Places is gritting all priority routes in the county from 10.30pm tonight.

Tomorrow will be mostly dry with showers, possibly wintry, mainly being seen to the east.
Herefordshire has one active flood alert, which means flooding is possible and people should be prepared. It is for the river Lugg south of Leominster.
Herefordshire has had days of cold, wintery weather in the wake of Storm Bella, which blew in during the final days of 2020.

The chill in the air is due to high pressure to the north of the UK, which is dragging air from the east “which at this time of year is cold”, the Met Office said.
The cold easterly winds are set to develop next week, bringing wintry showers – particularly around eastern parts of the UK – while hazardous freezing fog, frost and ice risks will all continue, the forecasters say.
