The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Herefordshire has risen by 72 over the past 24 hours, latest figures show.

Public Health England figures show that 2,849 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Sunday (December 20) in Herefordshire, up from 2,777 the same time on Saturday.

It means since Monday, the total number of cases has risen by 175 from 2,674.

The 72 new cases reported by Public Health England on Sunday, compares to 30 on Saturday and 19 on Friday.

The graph below shows the number of cases in Herefordshire by date of test, and not the day when the cases were published by PHE.

The Government website says the last five days' data is incomplete, thought to be due to a delay in results being processed.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 35,928 over the period, to 2,040,147.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
