As a resident of Kingsland, I am writing in support of the work carried out on the River Lugg.
Rivers need maintenance and we should be grateful that the landowner has undertaken this work in his own time and at his own expense, ultimately for the benefit of the community.
How often have we seen episodes of devastating floods with public sector bodies each pointing the figure but no-one taking any action.
RELATED NEWS:
Here at last is someone who has taken action but what a pity that the BBC had to show library pictures of otters and salmon as if the Lugg is teeming with such wildlife (in fact I understand the river is substantially polluted with phosphates).
And as for the local wildlife campaigner stating that the farmer did this to gain extra land for himself to farm – what a joke!
