A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured in a crash with a van, a court has heard.

Ryan Purnell admitted driving without due care and attention when he appeared before magistrates on December 2.

The 26-year-old had been driving a Renault Trafic van on the A4110 when he failed to see an oncoming Yamaha motorbike as he performed a right turn at Bush Bank in Herefordshire on April 16.

The rider was thrown from his bike in the crash, suffering serious injuries.

Purnell, of Longmeadow, Hereford, was fined £300 and received five penalty points. He must also pay costs of £110 and a £34 victim surcharge.
