A FURTHER 17 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Herefordshire over the last 24 hours, official figures show.

Public Health England figures show that a cumulative total of 2,550 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Herefordshire since the start of the outbreak, as of 9am on Saturday (December 5), up from 2,533 the same time on Friday.

In the last seven days 131 people have tested positive for Covid-19, a rate of 67.9 per 100,000 population.

Nationally 15,539 cases of coronavirus were recorded making a cumulative total of 1,705,971 cases since the pandemic began.

No further deaths following a positive Covid-19 test were recorded at the Wye Valley NHS Trust, a total of 76 people have died within the Trust since the start of the outbreak.

The last death recorded at the Herefordshire trust following a positive Covid-19 test was last Sunday (November 29).

Nationally a further 397 deaths were recorded following a positive Covid-19 test.
