The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Herefordshire rose by 13 over the last 24 hours, official figures show.

Public Health England figures show that 2,533 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Friday (December 4) in Herefordshire, up from 2,520 the same time on Thursday.

It means since last Friday 127 people have tested positive.

The graph below shows the number of cases in Herefordshire by date of test, and not the day when the cases were published by PHE.

The Government website says the last five days' data is incomplete, thought to be due to a delay in results being processed.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 16,298 over the period, to 1,690,432.

Herefordshire's cases were among the 171,135 recorded across the West Midlands, a figure which rose by 1,461 over the period.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.

On Friday, NHS England said no more patients at hospital in Herefordshire had died after a positive coronavirus test.

As of 4pm on Thursday, 76 people are known to have died at the Wye Valley NHS Trust after a positive Covid-19 result.

The Government said a further 504 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Friday, bringing the UK total to 60,617.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 76,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.
