A NUMBER of children at a village primary school in Herefordshire are having to self-isolate after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

Little Dewchurch Primary School, south of Hereford, said it had followed guidance after finding out about the positive case.

In a letter home to parents, headteacher Tracey Kneale and head of school Rachel Matthews said: "We have been made aware that we have a confirmed positive case of coronavirus (Covid-19) in Little Dewchurch School.

"A member of our support staff has tested positive yesterday," the letter dated November 27 said.

"We have followed the national guidance and all children and adults that have been in contact with the member of staff have been asked to isolate for the next 14 days."

In a seperate letter to close-contacts of the staff member, the leaders said the self-isolation period would end on December 10 – 14 days after the last contact.
