The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Herefordshire increased by 18 over the last 24 hours, official figures show.

Public Health England figures show that 2,389 people had tested positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Thursday (November 26) in Herefordshire, up from 2,371 the same time on Wednesday.

Compared to Thursday last week, 198 new cases had been reported in Herefordshire.

The graph below shows the number of cases in Herefordshire by date of test, and not the day when the cases were published by PHE.

The Government website says the last five days' data is incomplete, thought to be due to a delay in results being processed.

Across the UK, 17,555 new cases were reported in the daily figures from Public Health England, taking the total to 1,574,562.

Herefordshire's cases were among the 159,106 recorded across the West Midlands, a figure which rose by 2,237 over the period.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.

No more patients at the Wye Valley NHS Trust have died after testing positive for coronavirus, latest data shows.

NHS England said as of 4pm on Wednesday (November 25), 73 people had died at hospitals in Herefordshire after a positive Covid-19 test.

The Government said a further 498 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Thursday, bringing the UK total to 57,031.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 72,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK. This includes 139 in Herefordshire.
