A SECONDARY school in Hereford has confirmed a positive case of coronavirus.
Hereford Academy did not say if this was a student of member of staff, but said one case has been found in the community.
It is believed to be the first case at the school in Marlbrook Road, and some students have been told to self-isolate for 14 days.
Headteacher Michael Stoppard said in a letter to parents and guardians on Thursday: "We have been made aware of a member of our school community has tested positive for Covid-19.
"We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England."

He added: "This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (Covid-19) will be a mild illness."

"The small number of children who have been in close contact with the individual, who has tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19), have received a letter informing them that their child must stay at home for 14 days," Mr Stoppard said.
"The school remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well."
