THE second phase of a major housing development in Ledbury has been submitted to Herefordshire Council.

Barratt Homes want to build 46 homes as part of their 321-house development on land south of Leadon Way.

The plans include 18 affordable homes and 28 properties to be sold on the open market.

There is a mix of affordable rented and shared ownership and these range from one bed maisonettes to three bed homes.

While the private market homes two to four bed homes.

“Barratt will deliver the full affordable housing provision in accordance with the council’s local plan," the design and access statement says.

“The overall private housing mix is in accordance with what was agreed with the council’s planning committee in December 2017 after discussion with the Ledbury ward Councillors.

“In summary, this second phase of development is based on the previously approved reserved matters application and follows the principles of design that was set out.

“With the noise mitigation strategy in place, and mitigation measures in place to reduce any potential impact relating to noise, it is viewed that this parcel of land is now suitable for dwellings.”

Residents have until November 25 to comment on the proposals.

Herefordshire Council is expect to consider the scheme by January 29.
