THE driving test centre in Hereford is having to move for the second time in five years.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), which carries out the tests, said the last day of the centre being at Herefordshire Council's Plough Lane offices will be on December 23.

A DVSA spokesperson said the test centre is moving from Plough Lane as the agreement with the landlord, Herefordshire Council, is coming to an end.

They said: "The landlord has served notice for DVSA to leave our current Plough Lane site.

"DVSA is committed to helping everyone through a lifetime of safe driving and we are working to secure a new driving test centre in Hereford before the current lease expires.

"We will confirm details of a new site as soon as we are able."

The DVSA moved to Plough Lane from Farraday Road on December 3, 2015.

A Herefordshire Council spokesperson added: “Whilst DVSA finds the right premises in Hereford to suit their needs the council have previously extended the agreement from September to December, and have recently offered a further extension until the end of January 2021 to give DVSA additional time to confirm the arrangements for new premises”.
