The roads in Herefordshire are full at the moment of heavy lorries and tractors pulling this year’s harvest of potatoes and apples to their destination; this is a necessary and rewarding job for the economy and people of Herefordshire.
I would like to express my thanks to all the tractor drivers who take great care in their enormous vehicles, firstly to give pedestrians a wide berth but secondarily to allow those motorists who necessarily are having to queue up behind them, every chance to overtake by pulling over at any suitable occasion.
And thanks to those motorists stuck behind seemingly slow tractors suppressing their frustration at not being able to go at the speeds they would like to go at.
I trust that there is a bounteous and profitable harvest in these dark days.
And please, everyone, drive safely.
