AN ONLINE auction featuring artwork from some of the region’s most talented artists goes live next week.
It’s hoped the three-week Postcards from Life event will raise thousands for St Michael’s Hospice.
More than 200 miniature art masterpieces - many created during lockdown - go under the hammer from Monday (October 26) with proceeds going to the Bartestree-based Hospice which provides support and care to patients and families affected by a terminal illness.
The invited artists are given no brief, meaning they were free to choose whatever subject matter they wish, as long as it was postcard-sized.
Event co-ordinator Gaynor Warren said: "The quality of entries this year is outstanding. I think it’s our best collection yet. So, get ready to browse and bid for work which will brighten any room, safe in the knowledge that your support will help families in our community living with a terminal illness."
Over the years, Postcards from Life has raised tens of thousands of pounds for St Michael’s with bids received from as far afield as China and Australia.
The auction could not take place without the continued support of Brightwells which hosts the online bidding system.
