ONE more care home resident in Herefordshire has died with coronavirus, last figures show.

The weekly figures from the Office for National Statistics show 64 residents at the county's care homes are known to have died, and coronavirus mentioned on their death certificate.

The ONS data shows 129 deaths involving Covid-19 were provisionally registered in Herefordshire up to October 3.

Some 58 deaths have happened at hospital, and 71 elsewhere.

That includes 64 in care homes and four at private homes. Three deaths were in hospices.

The figures, published weekly, are based on where Covid-19 is mentioned anywhere on the death certificate.

CORONAVIRUS LATEST:

The ONS figures include deaths up to September 25, but registered up to eight days later.

As of 9am on Wednesday (October 7), 1,060 people in Herefordshire had tested positive for the virus since March. It means since last Tuesday (September 29) there has been 43 cases reported.

The weekly increase is partially as a result of a computer error which saw some cases go unreported between September 25 and October 2.
