A PASSENGER was seriously injured after a driver did not stop at a red light in Hereford, a court has heard.

Tatjana Ivanenko, of The Pastures, Lower Bullingham, admitted driving without due care and attention when she appeared before magistrates in Worcester on September 23.

The court heard Ivanenko had been driving a BMW 323 on Widemarsh Street when she failed to stop for a red light at the junction with Station Approach on November 18.

The 59-year-old drove straight across the junction, crashing into another car which was turning left into Station Approach, before hitting a set of traffic lights.

Magistrates heard a passenger in the car she hit was seriously injured and a substantial amount of damage was caused to the car and traffic lights

Ivanenko received six penalty points and was fined £169. She must also pay costs of £110 and a £32 victim surcharge.
