THE West Midlands Ambulance Service has highlighted the importance of a location application after saving a walker.
The 'What3words' application gives every three-metre square of the world a unique combination of three words which can then help emergency services find those in trouble.
The ambulance service said they recently attended an incident in which a walker fell, three quarters of a mile from the nearest road.
"Thanks to What3words the patient was able to tell us exactly where they were, saving the crew valuable time as they were able to locate them instantly," said the ambulance service in a tweet.
