A PUB in Herefordshire is temporarily closed after a customer tested positive for Covid-19.

The Walwyn Arms in Much Marcle, near Ledbury, made the announcement yesterday.

A spokesperson for the pub said: "In the interest of safety to our staff and customers we have temporarily closed the pub as a precaution due to a customer who works within the NHS advising us that they have tested positive for Covid-19.

"Key staff are being tested and the premises will be deep cleaned before we reopen.

It is understood that the customer, who visited the Walwyn Arms on the evening of September 9, did not have symptoms and were routinely tested due to their work.

"We are closing as a precaution only we are confident in our Covid management procedures and hope to reopen soon," the pub said.
