CREWS from two fire stations were called to battle a chimney blaze at a home in Herefordshire last night (September 12).
A fire service spokesperson said a crew from Kington Fire Station were joined by a crew from Peterchurch to tackle the fire near Willersley.
The fire involved a wood burning stove and the chimney was well alight on arrival.
Firefighters used chimney rods and a hose reel jet to put out the flames.
The fire came just weeks after figures released by Hereford and Worcester Fire Service revealed crews in the two counties had been called out to more than 1.600 chimney fires in the last ten years.
