ONE of Herefordshire's more unusual pubs has been listed with commercial letting agents, Sidney Phillips.

A three-year tenancy is on offer at The Victory, located on St Owen Street in Hereford.

Formerly the Bricklayers Arms, the tie-free city pub, known for its unusual nautical decor which includes a bar in the shape of a galleon, was refurbished in the early 90s by the Jolly Roger company.

It later passed into the hands of Wye Valley, under whose ownership it became The Victory, before being bought by former Hereford mayor, councillor Jim Kenyon, in 1999.

The pub has seating downstairs, and more is available on its gallery-style first floor, while a covered outside seating area is to one side of the building.

In more recent years, the pub exterior has also been transformed to commemorate those who have given their lives to defend their country in conflict.
