In a Hereford Times story on Extinction Rebellion’s banner drops on bridges and along roads throughout Herefordshire with messages targeting fossil fuel use, the aim of the group is described as being to ‘share their opinion that the use of fossil fuels needs to end’.

It isn’t one relatively small group’s opinion that we need to take action as swiftly as possible to curb global heating, and that the most immediate action needed is to transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

It’s a world-wide understanding that unless we do so we will pay the price of inaction in endlessly increasing violent changes of weather that will threaten every aspect of our society, particularly our food supplies, and that this price will be paid by our children and our children’s children.
