THE BEEFY boy burger has been crowned Hereford's most popular takeaway during lockdown by delivery service Deliveroo.

The on-demand food delivery service said the burger, sold by Hereford's own Beefy Boys at the Old Market development was the most ordered item they deliver.

In second place was Wagamama's chicken katsu curry, chicken gyros from Greek Gourmet took third, KFC's boneless banquet box meal came fourth, and a large cod and chips from Edward's Plaice was in fifth place.

The data also reveals Friday at 7.12pm is the most popular time for Herefordians to order on Deliveroo.

Since its launch in the town four years ago, more than 30 restaurants have signed up to the platform, with 60 percent of those being independent businesses.

The platform said it has created work for more than 100 people, with the majority of these being the Deliveroo riders.

Harison foster, regional director for Deliveroo UK said: “Our whole team here at Deliveroo are delighted that our rapid growth in Hereford over the past four years means that customers have more choice, restaurants are able to increase their revenue, and riders have opportunity to choose well-paid, flexible work.”
