The manager of a Hereford care home has been nominated in the Care Hero category.

Claire Boulter, manager of Holmer Court Residential Home, has been nominated by a member of her staff, who says, in support of the nomination that "Ms Boulter works tirelessly to ensure the best surrounding for staff and residents.

Her door is always open and she listens and helps everyone she comes into contact with.

Nothing is too much for her. The person-centred approach to the residents is outstanding and creates a safe and happy environment for us all.

"During these strange times with Covid-19 she has implemented the best possible practice to keep us safe and well.

"She has ensured that we have the best protection possible, and is constantly updating policy and practice and working non stop for us all.

"By doing all of that she has managed to keep us safe and free from the virus, always pushing boundaries to get what ever is needed.

"She has helped with staff morale and mental health to make sure her staff are not too badly affected with the changes being faced at the moment.

"She has covered shifts to allow staff to rest even though she works day and night herself.

"She has lost family during this time and has needed to support her own family too, dealing with grief and loss on a personal basis while still working non stop.

"She is a rock to everyone and supports them above and beyond, and never complains.

"She always has a smile on her face and a listening ear no matter how she may be dealing with things in her personal life.

"She is an amazingly, strong, resilient person who keeps us grounded."
