SEVERAL interesting military helicopters have been spotted flying low in Herefordshire's skies in recent days.
And members of the Hereford Times Camera Club have been ready with their cameras to catch a shot of them as they pass.
Geoff Houghton snapped this photo of what is understood to be an Apache attack helicopter as it flew over north Herefordshire on June 3.
The Ministry of Defence says the aircraft, which is designed to hunt and destroy tanks, carries a mix of weapons including rockets, Hellfire missiles and a 30mm chain gun.
Fellow member Matthew Holt also managed to capture an image of one of the heavily armed helicopters as it disappeared into the distance.
The perhaps more familiar 230 Squadron Puma HC2 helicopters were also spotted over Herefordshire yesterday.

Joseph Evans took this photograph of the distinctively tiger-striped craft as the pair flew past.
The aircraft is used in a variety of combat roles, including the tactical movement of troops, weapons, ammunition and stores on the battlefield, the MoD says.
It is also used for extracting casualties, responding to medical emergencies on the frontline, and during non-combatant evacuations, and humanitarian and disaster relief operations.
And on Monday, Geoff Houghton snapped this Bell-Boeing Osprey flying over.
The bizarre looking aircraft combines features of helicopters and fixed wing craft to take advantage of the capabilities of both types of aircraft.
