One of the categories in our Heath and Social Care Awards is Care Employer, and nominations received for Kemble at Home indicate just how important it is for their clients to have staff who feel valued by their employer.

“Kemble at Home is by far the friendliest place I have worked,” reads one nomination. “From day one of training they are extremely welcoming, and the managers have a close relationship with their staff. There is an atmosphere of honesty and trust and we all feel we can go to our managers for advice and a chat. Everyone supports each other at Kemble and this has been even more noticeable through this pandemic. Managers have gone out of their way to source extra PPE such as face shields and masks to ensure we are all safe. They have worked really hard to keep morale up through these scary times.

“The culture and atmosphere at Kemble at Home is the key thing. We were awarded ‘Excellent’ under the category of ‘Caring’ in our CQC inspection last June.

Care staff communicate with each other and managers through WhatsApp. Each client has their team of carers in a WhatsApp group, the client’s family and the client themselves are invited to join if they wish. This means we can share ideas and successes, discuss issues openly and honestly together and work towards finding a positive solution.

A second nomination reinforced this, adding: “They recognise true talent within their team, and utilise this to best benefit the business, investing in proper training and core policies and procedures.

“I have only worked for Kemble for a few months but I have felt so welcome and cared for. They take the time to thank you individually, notice our hard work and value us.”
