Official figures show that five more cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Herefordshire.

Public Health England figures show that 413 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am Thursday morning (May 14) in Herefordshire, up from 408 the same time on Wednesday. A week before, there were 335 cases.

It means cases have increased by 1% over the last 24 hours, lower than the rate of increase across the UK of 2%.

They were among the 23,438 cases recorded across the midlands, a figure which rose by 248 over the period.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.

Across the UK, 233,151 people had tested positive for coronavirus as of 9am on Thursday, up from 229,705 at the same point on Wednesday, Department of Health and Social Care figures show. In total, 1,593,902 people had been tested, and, as of 5pm on Wednesday, 33,614 had died.
