A POPULAR burger restaurant in Hereford will be firing up the grills again next week after closing in light of the coronavirus shutdown.

While restaurants could still open during the coronavirus lockdown, Beefy Boys in Old Market decided to close. But from Tuesday (May 19) they will restart their takeaway and delivery service.

After people in England were told they should go back to work, where possible, by the Government, Beefy Boys "rebuilt" their kitchen so social distancing could be maintained.

"Our main priority has and always will be keeping our staff and guests as safe as possible, we have taken measures to rebuild our kitchen to allow our staff to socially distance and we will be implementing strict procedures and checks so that we can open as responsibly and as safely as possible," the firm said.

"With that in mind, we will be launching our very own collection and delivery service that will not only be cheaper than Deliveroo and Uber but will also give you access to special menu items, giveaways, and free gifts only available when ordering directly with us.

"Collections will only be available via pre order, with a specific collection time to limit the amount of people congregating around the restaurant. All pre-orders will be placed via phone or email. If emailing please provide us with a contact phone number so that we can call to arrange payment."

Beefy Boys is expecting for the takeaway and delivery service to be popular when it's launched next week and only pre-orders will be allowed. They can be placed by contacting the restaurant via email hello@thebeefyboys.com or by calling 01432 359209

They added: "We envisage peak service times getting very busy, so when making your pre-order if your preferred slot is not available our staff will try and offer an alternative.

"When collecting your food at the pre-arranged time please make your way to the collection point at the front of the restaurant and give your name, our staff will then direct you to to a marked out, numbered waiting area outside where we will bring your food and place it down before stepping back. The collection points will be sanitised between uses.

"As well as collection we will be running our own delivery service for those of you still isolating within an approximate five mile radius of the restaurant (depending on the order size we can go a little further), again please give us a call or email
