MORE pictures have been posted about the startling-looking aircraft that has been seen several times in Herefordshire recently.
The newest pictures are stunning close-ups of a Bell Boeing Osprey at Shobdon airfield, the home of Herefordshire Aero Club, yesterday (Monday).
They show the American military aircraft displaying its remarkable ability to land and take off vertically.
It is designed to combine the functionality of a conventional helicopter with the long-range, high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop aircraft.
Last month Joe Thompson, of the Hereford Times Camera Club, captured an eye-catching picture of a pair of Ospreys flying low over a brilliant-yellow oilseed rape field in Herefordshire.
Shobdon airfield is currently closed because of coronavirus restrictions, but so-called 'general aviation' aircraft are allowed to conduct maintenance flights.
It is not known which arm of the military is responsible for the Ospreys, or why they were at Shobdon.
