Official figures show that two more cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Herefordshire.

Public Health England figures show that 86 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am Friday morning (April 10) in Herefordshire, up from 84 the same time on Wednesday.

The two new cases in Herefordshire were among the 9,704 cases recorded across the midlands, a figure which rose by 641 over the 24-hour period.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.

Across the UK, 70,873 people had tested positive for coronavirus as of 9am on Friday, up from 65,077 at the same point on Wednesday, health secretary Matt Hancock said.

In total, 262,527 people had been tested, and, as of 5pm on Thursday, 8,958 had died - an increase of 980 on the day before.
