THE cost of converting the now closed West Midlands Ambulance Service station in Ross-on-Wye totalled £8,000, according to a freedom of information request.
Bosses at West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust decided to close their base on the Haigh Industrial Estate last month. The total cost to convert and provision the facility was £8000.
The service took on the lease of the building in August 2015, the station was previously at the Mead in Hildersley.
Ross councillors protested the closure of the ambulance station as it would leave the town in a vulnerable position as it is on the very edge of the West Midlands.
