THE NUMBER of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bolton has risen to 47, an increase of five cases from the previous day.
Figures released by Public Health England revealed that 22,141 people have now been diagnosed with COVID-19 nationally, a 13 per cent rise on the previous day's cases.
The day-on-day increase is now slowing, with confirmed cases up 15 per cent on Sunday, 18 per cent on Saturday, and a quarter on Friday.
Deaths related to coronavirus are also slowing. On Monday there were 180 deaths, taking the new total to 1,408.
On Sunday, 209 new deaths were recorded. Saturday saw 260 new deaths, with Friday's figures recording 181.
Nearly 135,000 people have been tested for coronavirus in the UK, with 134,949 people tested as of 9am on March 30.
