HEREFORDSHIRE Council have closed all of its play parks for children amid attempts to curtail the coronavirus.

A statement by the council said: “In order to protect the public from the threat of COVID-19, Herefordshire Council has taken the decision to close all public play areas from today (Monday 23 March) until further notice.

“The decision has been taken due to the unprecedented threat to Public Health posed by the outbreak of COVID-19, and will help to support official guidance about social distancing.”

Public parks remain open, but the council are urging people to follow government advice by avoiding gatherings and maintaining social distancing.
