A POLICE cordon is in place at a Hereford supermarket this morning.
Officers remain on site at the Belmont Road Tesco supermarket, after they were called to the store earlier today.
The Tesco Bank cash machines outside the store are currently cordoned off, but the supermarket remains open to customers.
Cash handling company Loomis are also currently on scene.
Inspector Simon Arinze said: “We’ve launched an investigation after a cash machine was damaged outside a supermarket on Abbotsmead Road in Belmont, Hereford and cash was taken yesterday evening.
“Officers quickly attended the scene and are following up on a number of lines of enquiry. To support our investigation we’re asking anyone that was in the area and saw or heard anything suspicious to call us on 101, quoting incident number 550s of March 22.
"You can also give information without giving your name by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by visiting their website.”
