Four people have been arrested and are in custody in Hereford for the suspected abduction of a 15-year-old child on a motorway.
The arrests took place last night (March 5) on the J4A on the M42, near Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.
A car being driven into the West Mercia Police force area was stopped by officers after they had been told there might be an abducted child inside.
Specially trained officers deployed a 'stinger’ to bring the car to a safe stop and the teenager was found and taken into care.
Three men and one woman were detained and arrested on suspicion of abduction and taken to the Hereford custody where they remain.
The Worcestershire operations patrol unit posted on Twitter: “A shift assisted @OPUWarks this evening with a tactical stop on this vehicle M5/M42.
“Four Romanians arrested and now in custody for the abduction of a 15-year-old. We will continue to tackle organised crime.”
