POLICE officers have stopped a number of vehicles with unsafe loads at a checkpoint in Ross-on-Wye.
West Mercia Police said it teamed up with a number of other agencies to check vehicles, which had issues ranging from bald tyres to loads that had not been secured.
The vehicles were pulled over on the A40 in Ross-on-Wye, which is a main route from the M50 to the A449 to south Wales.
Officers at the scene said numerous vehicles were stopped: "Some prohibited, some reported, some advised."
The national policing unit the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service were involved with the operation, and Marie Biddulph from Highways England is reminding drivers of good vehicles to always strap their loads down.
