A LOCAL company has donated £10,000 to St Michael's Hospice with fundraising events over the past 12 months which saw staff take part in a variety of activities.
Based in Whitestone, near Hereford, payment specialist allpay raised £6,500 for the hospice and the firm topped this up to £10,000.
Michelle Pacey, director at allpay said: "Each year our 300 employees vote for the charity we would all like to support. St Michael's Hospice was voted as our main charity for 2019.
"Over the year, our various departments take it in turns to organise the fundraising activity for the month.
"There have been sponsored car washes, raffles, coffee mornings, cake breaks, and one team even abseiled off the side of the Beefy Boys restaurant in Hereford.
"We also raise money through our coffee vending machines at our offices where, as a company, we stock the machines and all the income generated is donated to charitable causes through our charity committee." Overall, our staff raised £6.5K for St Michael's Hospice and our Charity Committee topped this up to £10,000.
