DEVIZES has one of the lowest amounts of primary care space in Wiltshire according to Wiltshire CCG chairman Richard Sandford-Hill.
Dr Sandford-Hill, who is a GP in Market Lavington, said two surgeries in Devizes had been advertising for doctors for more than a year.
He said that although the town had a well developed Primary Care Network with nurse practitioners, paramedics, pharmacists and physiotherapists it was badly in need of more GPs and space. It is hoped the new health centre will create this.
