THIS Christmas has been an extra special one for woman as she received a birthday card from the Queen.
Lillian Dolling, who lives in Little Dewchurch, celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by her friends and family on Christmas Eve.
Originally from Bristol, Lillian and her late husband moved to Herefordshire 30 years ago, and remains involved in village life.
The Little Dewchurch over 60s club helped her celebrate as they held a teaparty for her milestone birthday.
Granddaughter Alice Roat said: "The highlight was Lillian's birthday card from the Queen, it arrived on December 20 so just in time for her big birthday and Christmas.
Friends and family, which spans over five generations, gathered from across the country for a party at The Old Court, Symmonds Yat.
