DIRECT trains to Birmingham from Herefordshire have been cancelled today (Saturday) despite the strike that had been affecting services being called off.
On Thursday the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union announced an agreement had been reached to suspend the remaining days of industrial action planned.

West Midlands Railway staff had been concerned about safety if driver-only operated trains had come into force.
But as the revised timetable had been put in place ready for Saturday, it was too late to reinstate a normal service.

Commuters are advised to check before they travel, and can still travel to Birmingham by going via Shrewsbury.
