EARLY morning risers taking a stroll in a Cheshire park were left open-mouthed by the sight of a Tesco delivery van on the roof of a thatched cottage.
News spread quickly through the town of Knutsford following the first sighting of the delivery van – which was seemingly parked on the roof of a cottage and covered in hundreds of multicoloured festive lights – and people soon began to gather to see it for themselves.
“It’s unbelievable!” said Jewel, 29, a Knutsford resident, who lives near Tatton Park.
“I’ve never seen anything quite like this, especially around here. It feels like something out of a Christmas movie.”
Alessandra Bellini, Tesco chief customer officer, said: “Seeing one of our Tesco delivery vans sat on the roof of a cottage caught everyone by surprise this morning.
“It is certainly not something you see every day, but I suspect that anyone watching ITV this Sunday night will have all their questions answered.”
The surprising scene could be linked to Tesco’s Christmas ad, which airs on Sunday.
