BROMSGROVE'S Parliamentary candidates will come together for a special General Election Hustings in the town a fortnight prior to the big vote.

Just 12 days before the General Election on December 12, the four prospective MPs will converge on Bromsgrove Baptist Church on Saturday, November 30.

Sajid Javid of the Conservatives, Rory Shannon of the Labour Party and Dr David Nicholl of the Liberal Democrats will all be present.

The Advertiser understands that Green Party candidate Kevin White cannot be present but organisers are hopeful a substitute will be found.

Mandy Childs was due to contest the seat for the Brexit Party but has stood down due to party leader Nigel Farage's decision not to contest seats held by Conservatives.

Churches Together in Bromsgrove are organising the Hustings at the Baptist Church, on the corner of New Road and Ednall Lane.

Attendees are asked to be seated at 2.30pm, ready for a prompt 3pm start to the Hustings which will be chaired by Rev. David Ford.

Members of the public are being invited to submit questions to hustings@churchestogetherinbromsgrove.org.uk by 12noon on November 26.

Questions submitted will be reviewed and grouped into like themes, with one core question and perhaps one or two supplementary questions as time allows on the day.

A Churches Together statement explained: "That is not to be done to be restrictive or inappropriately controlling, but simply to ensure that on the day enough time is given to a range of themes, rather than getting stuck on one."
