A snow warning has been issued as the weather worsens in Herefordshire.

The Met Office says there will be some snow tonight (Wednesday) and into tomorrow morning. It will affect higher roads in Wales and the west of Herefordshire.

Some roads and railways are likely to be affected by lying snow, with longer journey times by road, bus and train.

The snow will melt and turn to rain tomorrow.

Gritters were out on all priority routes in the county tonight.

The Old Bridge was finally cleared of debris today. It had been partially blocked since the October floods. Now more debris is likely to be heading downstream.

Meanwhile, flood barriers went back up in Hereford in preparation for the coming downpour.

New flood alerts have today been issued for Herefordshire, where the ground is sodden and more persistent rain in on the way.

An alert, which is issued by the Environment Agency, means flooding is possible and people should be prepared.
