TUPSLEY Townswomen's Guild celebrated its 50th anniversary in October with an afternoon tea held at Aylestone Court Hotel.

Townswomen's Guild national chairman, Penny Ryan travelled to Hereford to join in the celebration and presented three members with 50 year membership badges.

The Townswomen's Guild, which is 90 years old this year, grew out of the Suffragist Movement which helped to give women the right to vote in elections.

Tupsley TG meets twice a month – at the Whitehouse Hub on the first Tuesday afternoon, and at Hampton Park Church on the third Tuesday evening.

There are talks on all manner of subjects, competitions, quizzes, trips out and chats over the tea cups!

They welcome new members, or visitors who will hopefully return as friends.
