These are the Remembrance Services taking place in Herefordshire this week;

Hereford (city centre):

St Owen Street Sunday November 10 at 10.30am, to the war memorial in St Peter's Square where a service will be held. Two-minute silence at 11am, followed by wreath laying and the National Anthem.

The Mayor, Councillors and children from Lord Scudamore Academy will me holding a two minute silence in respect for Armistice Day on Monday November 11 at 11am at the War Memorial, St Peters Square.

Hereford (cathedral):

Words and Music for Remembrance, Thursday, November 7.

The cathedral eucharist will be marking Remembrance Day with music from Duruflé’s requiem at 10am on Sunday, November 10.

Field of remembrance in the Lady Arbour garden. There will be a short service of dedication in the garden at 11am today (Wednesday, November 6), and every day until November 13.

Hereford Sixth Form College:

The college act of Remembrance will be at 11.15am on Monday November 11, in the Pavillion. Block B will start at the later time of 11.45am. 

Old Market, Hereford:

Join the Mayor by the War Hero statue in an Act of Remembrance on Saturday 9 November at 11am

Little Birch Church:

Remembrance service, Sunday, November 10, from 10.50am-noon.

Aymestry:

Remembrance service, Sunday, November 10, at 10.50am.

Llanwarne:

Remembrance service and lunch at Christchurch, Llanwarne. Procession to the memorial, 10.50am.

Kington:

8.30am: Holy Eucharist: Huntington

10.00am: Service at Kington Baptist Church

10.15am: Remembrance Service: Titley

10.30am: Holy Eucharist & Act of Remembrance: Old Radnor

4.00pm: Remembrance Service: Kinnerton

Ledbury:

Act of Remembrance and Parade 10.40 Town Memorial followed by Remembrance Service at St Michael’s Church Monday unveiling of plaque at the Co-op, New Street the site of the former Drill Hall 10.30. Short Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial 10.55

Wye Dore Parishes:

Remembrance services will be at Madley, Peterchurch and Vowchurch, 10th November, all start at 10.45 am

  • It is worth noting that many church services will be starting a little earlier than on a usual Sunday to allow for the two minutes' silence at 11am.
