A HEREFORDSHIRE home care provider has been praised by inspectors for being 'exceptionally caring'.

Receiving an overall 'good' rating, Kemble at Home was rated 'outstanding’ for caring when they were visited by the Care Quality Commission earlier this year.

Inspectors also said the care provider was found to be safe, effective, well-led and responsive.

The newly published report said staff “demonstrated boundless empathy and understanding,” and both the management team and staff consistently went the extra mile.

Inspectors found there were effective safeguarding, incident learning, risk management and complaints procedures in place, while staff were regularly able to access training courses and regularly undergo competency checks.

Communication between staff, clients and relatives was highlighted as excellent.

One client told inspectors: “I would never go anywhere else, these are the very best. You can't fault them in anything, they really care”.

Another said: “They will all go out of their way to help you, each and every one”.

Inspectors said that Kemble at Home’s clients are “Truly respected and valued as individuals; and empowered as partners in their care in an exceptional service.”

The report also noted the company's ethos of 'giving something back'.

"All the team were passionate about improving people's well-being and there were funds available from the provider to achieve this," the report said.

Examples included funding excursions and trips for people to access places that would have been difficult on their own.

Managing director Peter King said: “It all comes down to our staff, really. Our teams are optimistic and have a ‘can-do’ mentality. They love their clients, and many of them would move mountains to give their clients a good day.”
