PLANNED work to replace the bearings on a busy Herefordshire bridge have been delayed, Herefordshire Council has confirmed.
Essential work to replace the bearings at the western end of the B4399 Holme Lacy Bridge was originally expected to take place during the summer.
But Herefordshire Council later announced that the work was not expected to commence before September.
A spokesperson has now confirmed that the works will not take place until the new year.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place for the duration of the work, which will take a number of weeks to complete, and one lane will remain open across the bridge for the majority of the time, while full closures may be necessary for one or two days at a time.
