WARNINGS for heavy rain and flooding are in place for Herefordshire.

The Met Office is predicting heavy rain which will continue into tomorrow (Saturday) and may bring transport disruption and flooding.

It is warning homes and businesses could flood, while spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures, and some communities may be cut off by flooded roads.

The yellow warning, which covers Herefordshire as well as much of Wales, is in force until 6pm on Saturday.

A band of heavy rain will spread eastwards through Saturday morning, continuing through the day with strengthening winds, the Met Office said.

The rain will clear by Saturday evening and Sunday will be drier and brighter.

Meanwhile, flood warnings and alerts are in place for Herefordshire.

A flood warning means flooding is expected and imminent action is required. A flood alert means flooding is possible and people should be alert.

The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for Leintwardine and Walford.

Flooding is affecting properties and roads in Leintwardine and Walford, including the A4113 at Leintwardine.

Flooding is affecting properties and roads including the A438 between Letton and Willersley and Whitney-on-Wye.
