On Sunday, September 20 at 3pm, the Herefordshire Composers' Workshop presents its latest concert, to be performed by Ruth Watson on oboe, Oliver Galletta on bassoon, and Andrew Morris on piano.

The concert will take place at St Leonard's Church in Yarpole and will feature works by HCW members along with other well-known composers. All three performers are highly esteemed teachers and performers in this part of the country and beyond: Ruth Watson, now a freelance oboist, teacher, examiner and reedmaker, has played with many of this country’s orchestras including the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Scottish Opera, Bournemouth Sinfonietta and London Sinfonietta, and spent some years as principal oboe of the Orquestra do Porto in Portugal; Oliver Galletta is a professional freelance bassoonist based in Cheltenham, and studied at Wells Cathedral School on the DfEE Specialist Music scheme, followed by studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and also the Royal Northern College of Music.

As a young musician in the late nineties, he gathered an impressive profile within a number of national competitions; since then he has done professional freelance work with orchestras all over the UK, and is currently co-principal bassoon with the Orchestra of the Swan. Pianist Andrew Morris has been based in Leominster since 1987 and has written music for several large-scale community events in Herefordshire, including Leominster Music Monster, Globetrotters' Ball and How we Built the Priory.

Since 2004 Andrew has been working on a major project of developing a set of 38 pieces of music to match the energies of the 38 Bach Flower Remedies.

Tickets will be available on the door.
